August 6, 1929 – October 27, 2026
With heavy hearts, we remember the life of Bettie Ann Haskins Cason, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and faithful servant of the Lord. Her life spanned nearly a century, leaving behind a legacy of faith, family, hard work, and service to others.
One of the most meaningful parts of Bettie’s life was her unwavering love for the Lord. She devoted 77 years to teaching Sunday School, serving from 1946 through 2023. For more than seven decades, Bettie shared the love of God and helped teach generations about His goodness, grace, and promises. Her dedication to this ministry was a testament to her enduring commitment to the Lord and her desire to instill Christian values in the hearts of others. The spiritual lessons she planted throughout those years will continue to grow in the hearts and lives of those she taught.
Bettie and her beloved husband, Ivan Stanley Cason, also shared a lasting commitment to their community. In 1957, they became co-owners of "The Sportsman of Homestead", a sporting goods business that served the Homestead community for over four decades.
Bettie’s life was marked by her dedication to her faith, her family, and the community she served. Through her years of teaching Sunday School and her work alongside Ivan, she touched many lives and built a legacy that extended far beyond her own home.
Bettie was predeceased by her beloved husband, Ivan Stanley Cason; her father, Rev. Charles (CW) Washington Haskins; her mother, Carrie Leila Desmuke; her brother, Clyde Raymond Nail; and her daughter, Dawn Roxanne Cason.
She is survived by her three children: Stanley Philip Cason (Susan Ann), DeAnne Vanette Cinilia (Anthony Albert Cinilia), and Roxanne Loraine (Lori) Diehl (Steven Kirkpatrick Diehl). She also leaves behind seven grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren, who carry her family’s story into future generations.
As family and friends remember Bettie, may they find comfort in the memories they shared, the Christian values she so lovingly taught, and the lasting impact of a life devoted to the Lord and to others. Though she will be deeply missed, her legacy will live on through her family, the generations she taught, and the many years of dedicated service she gave to others.
Bettie’s earthly journey has ended, but the faith she shared and the love she gave will continue to shine through those whose lives she touched.
Rest in peace, Bettie. May you rejoice in the presence of the Lord you served so faithfully for 97 years. Your life was a testimony of faith, and your memory will be cherished always.
“I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith.”
