Daniel was born on May 9, 1961 in Fairhope, Alabama. He was the 14th child born to parents, Juan Nieto Gonzalez and Basilia Escalante.
He is preceded in death by his grandparents, Ignacio Nieto and Julia Gonzalez, and Sernon Escalante and Nicolasa Avila; as well as his father, Juan; and siblings, Basilia Nieto, Thomas Nieto, Jessie Nieto, and Delia Chapa.
His legacy and memory lives on through his mother, Basilia; his siblings, Vicenta Martinez, Anselma Moreno, Basilia Campos, Juan Nieto Jr, Margarita Moreno, Virginia Zapata, Arturo Nieto, Yolanda Munoz, Rosseline Nieto, Irma Rivera, Alicia Nieto, Joe Nieto, Josephine Torres, Gloria Bella, and Stephen Nieto; his daughter, Cindy Garcia; his grandchildren, Jose Luis Garcia Jr and Emily Rose Garcia; as well as his entire extended family and loving son-in-law.
Daniel, also known as Dan, Dan Dan, Dan the Man, was a true gem and beautiful soul. He was a longtime resident of Homestead, FL, where he was raised alongside his brothers and sisters working out in the fields picking cherries, among many other vegetables and fruits. With hard working hands, he later found his craft of carpentry in the construction industry.
Dan was a simple man. He loved life and loved well. He loved his family, cruising down the street in his decked out three-wheel bike (though he did love his sleek, black Trans Am back in the day), showing off his smooth dance moves, his #1 Miami Dolphins team, and hanging out in the “man cave” shed patio behind his home with loved ones.
He touched many lives during his time here on earth. Though it broke our hearts the moment his stopped beating, we know that all is made new and he now walks on streets of gold with loved ones we have lost along the way.
A golden heart stopped beating, hard working hands at rest. To us all, you were the very best. Life here on earth will never be the same without you, but we will keep and carry your motto wherever we go: MAIN THING – DON’T PANIC. Thank you for your love, for all the memories, and for simply being Dan. We loved you then, we love you still, we love you forevermore.
A Celebration of Life ceremony will be held in honor of Daniel E Nieto at Life Pointe Church, located at 27500 Old Dixie Hwy, Homestead, FL 33032, on Wednesday, September 13, 2023 at 6:00 pm.
The family welcomes and appreciates your love and prayers during this time.
Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.palmswoodlawnnaranja.com for the Nieto family.
