James Leonard Howard, 75, a lifelong resident of Miami, FL, was called to his heavenly home on June 1, 2024. Born on December 20, 1948, he was a man of faith, a loving husband, father, grandfather, and a respected business owner.
A veteran who served with honor in the Navy for six years, James demonstrated a commitment to his country that was only matched by his dedication to his community. He owned and operated Kilby Electric, maintaining a legacy of integrity and quality workmanship for over 40 years.
As a member of Grace Baptist Church and subsequently Christ Fellowship Church, James lived a life emblematic of Christian virtues, treating others with kindness and generosity. His relationship with God was evident in his actions and the love he shared with his family and friends.
James found peace in nature's sanctuary, enjoying God's creation through his beloved hobbies of fishing, hunting, and boating. His zest for life was a testament to the joy he derived from the simple pleasures of the world the Lord created.
He leaves behind a legacy of love and cherished memories with his wife, Linda Howard; daughters, Krystal Mann and Lori Pridemore; brother, John Howard; grandsons, Joshua, Karl, Jonathan, Gavin, and Evan; as well as his cherished granddaughter, Ginette and great-granddaughters, Zuriah and Nova. His spirit is now reunited in eternity with his first wife, Terry Howard, and sisters, Nancy Williamson and Sandy Earp, who preceded him in death.
A solemn gathering to honor James's life will take place at Christ Fellowship Church in Palmetto Bay, located at 8900 SW 168th St, Palmetto Bay, FL 33157. Public viewing is scheduled for 10:30 am, immediately followed by a traditional Memorial Service at 11 am.
The family respectfully requests that, in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions be directed to The Gideons International as a tribute to James's enduring faith and his commitment to the spread of the Gospel.
Caballero Rivero Funeral Home in Homestead, FL, is supporting the family through this period of bereavement.
