Lenore Elizabeth Pritchett Tomlinson, age 65, passed away on Wednesday, April 27, 2022, at her home in Homestead, Florida. She was born December 20, 1956, in Homestead. She graduated from South Dade Senior High School and attended the University of Miami and Miami-Dade College of Nursing.
Lenore is survived by her husband, David Tomlinson, sons Joshua Tomlinson (Katherine) and Matthew Tomlinson, daughters Stacey Tomlinson (Tim Stevens) and Tracey Tomlinson (David McAdam), and stepsons Daniel Tomlinson and Zachary Tomlinson, whom she raised from infancy after the death of his mother.
Lenore was preceded in death by her parents, Florence and Raymond Pritchett of Candler, Florida. She was the oldest of five children and is survived by her four brothers: Raymond, Tommy, Billy and Bruce Pritchett. Fifteen nieces and nephews also survive.
She was the devoted grandmother of 18 grandchildren.
Lenore was known to all who loved her as a gentle soul. She cherished her family and acted as a dedicated caregiver to her parents, her grandchildren, and her mother- and father-in-law. Always grateful for her many blessings, she had a gift of making everyone feel welcome and important.
During her youth, she attended the University of Miami, where she was a majorette and played the clarinet in the “Band of the Hour.” In keeping with her loving, caring nature, later she returned to school to continue her studies at Miami-Dade College of Nursing.
A gentle woman who loved to be outdoors among flowers, nature, and her beloved wild turtles, Lenore took the time to enjoy her surroundings, no matter what she was doing. Any visitor to her home would see her appreciation for fine, delicate treasures such as the porcelain dishes that she collected. A lifelong student, she encouraged her grandchildren to read and provided them with books at every opportunity. In her free time, she enjoyed music, creating various arts and crafts, and attending church regularly at Christ Fellowship of Homestead.
Lenore was at the heart of her family and her passing has left a void that can never be filled.
A visitation for Lenore will be held Monday, May 2, 2022 from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Caballero Rivero Palms Woodlawn, 27100 Old Dixie Hwy Naranja, FL 33032, followed by a funeral service from 11:00 AM to 11:30 AM.
