Marcus Alfonso Fernandez
March 4, 1971 – June 22, 2020
Marcus Alfonso Fernandez, age 49 was born in Stamford, Connecticut on March 4, 1971 and peacefully passed away at home on June 22, 2020. He was survived by his parents, mother; Julita Fernandez, father; Alfonso Fernandez, siblings; Frank Fred Fernandez, Nohemi Elena Fernandez, Kally Fernandez, nephews; Frank Giovanni Fernandez and Zackari Marcus Fernandez, nieces; Elena McAnally and Cristina Parker Rodriguez and many cousins and childhood friends whose lives he touched in many ways. At age 3, his family moved to Homestead, Florida where he grew up and attended Campbell Drive Elementary and Campbell Drive Jr. High. During his Jr. High school years, he became a saxophonist and he wrestled. He was accomplished at both. He graduated from Homestead Sr. High in the class of 1990. After his high school years, Marcus had a long career in auto part sales, this continued his affinity for cars. He loved working on his Toyota truck, it was his pride and joy as you all know. He then moved on to construction, this brought him to live and work in the Florida Keys. With this move to construction he found a new passion of working with his hands. Marcus did not like to stay idle and always worked hard. He was prideful of the projects he was a part of and loved to show off his completed works. This is where he spent his last years enjoying the salt-life and sunsets. Marcus loved his family and friends, having gatherings, cooking on the grill, listening to music, dancing and a good drink is what he loved most. Every time you would see Marcus he would have a big smile and would be able to bring out a smile in you. He had many family and friends that he shared and spent time with. If you needed him you could always count on him. He loved us all unconditionally. He was an honorable, hard-working, loving brother, uncle, son and friend. He was strong, determined and never gave up. He would love for us to all carry on and not be sad. His memory will live on forever through his laughter and his stories, he will forever be in our hearts.
A visitation for Marcus will be held Tuesday, June 30, 2020 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Caballero Rivero Palms Woodlawn, 27100 OLD DIXIE HWY, NARANJA, FL 33032.

I will always remember him for his smile-always happy, laughing, enjoying & living life to the fullest. I will miss our talks & laughing together. He was a friend I could always count on especially when I was having a bad day. He has seen me at my worst & also at my best. I would call him & he would say “before we hang up I’m going to have you laughing.” He was right every time. I would call him with tears & hang up with laughter.
Marcus, I have cried many tears & I’m sure I will cry many more. I wasn't ready for you to leave this earth so unexpectedly. I miss you & i will miss you til i see you again one day. R I P my friend. Love you always
