Born on April 11, 1947, Mariela was proud of her Cuban heritage and shared that pride with her daughters. She built a fulfilling career as an administrative assistant with the Miami-Dade County Police Department, where she dedicated more than 33 years of service.
Mariela’s greatest joy was her family. She is survived by her beloved husband, Warren Brundage; her daughters, Kathy Scott (Cliff) and Kristy Garrison (Rusty); and her cherished grandsons, C.J. and Presley Scott, and Stephen Garrison. She also leaves behind her brother, Frank Angulo (Jackie), and brother-in-law, Pepin Olmedo, along with many cousins, nieces, and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Magalidad Angulo; her sister, Amanda Pittelli (Sal); and her sister, Margo Olmedo.
A woman of elegance and grace, Mariela always put her best foot forward—often in a stylish pair of shoes. She was an avid reader who loved to travel and spend time with family and friends. A proud member of the Xi Delta Rho chapter of the Beta Sigma Phi Sorority since 1981, she found joy in the connections she made throughout her life.
A Celebration of Life will be held on February 23, 2025, from 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM, with a Memorial Service at 2:00 PM, at Redland Golf and Country Club in Homestead, Florida (24451 SW 177th Ave).
Mariela’s warmth and love will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
