Mrs. Mildred “Lorene” Bond Rotenberry, 84, of Homestead, FL, while surrounded by her daughters and loved ones, went Home to God on Saturday, June 22, 2019. Born April 1, 1935, Grayson County, Virginia, to the late William and Bertie Hill Bond, she is welcomed to Heaven by her late husband, Ilow Hampton Rotenberry, her sons, Ilow Rotenberry, Jr., and Philip Rotenberry, along with her parents and siblings, Inez, Clifton, Faye, Garnett, and a multitude of loved ones.
To describe Lorene as ‘strong’ would be an understatement. After marrying Ilow Rotenberry at age 16, she became a lifelong military spouse, homemaker, and caregiver. Enduring multiple deployments, moves, hurricanes, illnesses, and the untimely deaths of dear loved ones, Lorene remained steadily and faithfully devoted to her family and her marriage of 63 years. She leaves us with a legacy of what it means to remain true, and she will be profoundly missed.
Missing Lorene in this earthly life are her daughters, Connie Rotenberry Ryan, Susan Rotenberry Martin and her husband, Richard Martin, along with her grandchildren, Paul, Eric, Bailey, and Gage Rotenberry, Leslie, Bill and Scott Ryan, Laurie, Sarah, Kristin and Lindsey Martin, her brother, Wayne Bond, and countless special relatives and friends.
A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, June 26, at 2:30 p.m., Palms Woodlawn Cemetery, 27100 Old Dixie Hwy, Naranja, FL 33032.
Condolences can be sent to the family at 3958 SW 137 Avenue, Davie, FL 33330.
