Rachel Ann Grafe ,66, was called home to our dear Lord and Savior March 5, 2023 surrounded by her loving family Rachel Grafe was born in Lawrence Kansas October 13, 1956 to Ray and Barbara Knaus. She is the oldest of four siblings. Susan Knaus Blocher (Thomas), Matthew Knaus (Diane), Mark Knaus (Lara). She met the love of her life Herbert Adolph Grafe III when she was a sophomore in high school. They dated for 2.5 years before marrying on November 2, 1973. As she would say “they had to grow up before they had children”. They were blessed with 2 children, a daughter Natalie Ann and son Travis Ray. The light of her life was a granddaughter, Abby Rae born March 9 2005. She was preceded in death by her father Ray Knaus. The family moved to South Florida in 1956 where her father and his brother began raising strawberries. A small roadside stand was set up to sell strawberries and her mother made baked goods. As the years passed Knaus Berry Farm was established. Rachel grew up riding the strawberry planter and helping out on the farm. Rachel and her husband Herbie along with her sister and her
husband Tom run Knaus Berry Farm to date. November 20th 1996 a horrific accident left her son Travis
with a permanent brain injury. Changing her life forever she dedicated her days to caring for her son. The love she had for him is only a love a mother can have for their son. She spent many sleepless nights in worry but always relied on her faith to guide her through. Rachel was a strong woman who endured many trials until her last breath. As her final moments passed her husband Herbie said that she had lived her whole life with the purpose to meet Jesus.
