resided at Eastridge Retirement Village. Her daughter
Vail was by her side.
Vera was born 2/9/1922 in Clarington Jamaica., the
daughter of the late Evelyn Knott and Nami Shoucair.
She was an only child. She attended the Immaculate
Conception High school and took classes at the University of
the West Indies where she began her love for English studies
and law. Vera worked at the British Embassy in Kingston
Jamaica and in 1947 decided to make a move to the United
States , Washington DC where she continued at the Embassy
there. 1950 she met the love of her life her late husband
Carson T Seavey ESQ. They were married in Alexandria
Virginia June 21 1952. She left the embassy to begin working
with the federal government. She worked with her husband as
a legal assistant at the National Labor Relations Board and also
worked at the Interstate Commerce Commission before
moving to Miami, Florida where she finished her legal career at
The Social Security Hearings and Appeals office at the age of 70.
Vera was loved by everyone she met , she loved the beach,
having breakfast with family members , enjoyed exercise,
especially walking. She was the rock to our family.
She is survived by her three children, Craig Seavey,
Carson T Seavey and Vail Seavey. She has four grandchildren
Nicole Grabow, Carson Seavey III, Corey Seavey and
Caitlyn Seavey. Two great grandchildren, Klein Grabow and
Hudson Grabow.
The funeral services will be at Caballero Rivero Palms
