Mary Alice Corcoran White, age 95, passed away at Valley Terrace Assisted Living home in White River Junction, VT on Saturday, October 5, 2019. She previously resided in Moneta VA, Raleigh NC, Tucson AZ, and Syracuse NY.
Alice was born in Chicago IL on July 8, 1924, and was the only child of the late Francis Corcoran and Mary Ellen Kelly Corcoran. She served in the Navy during WWII, and married William E. White on May 15, 1954. They were married 63 years until his death on September 10, 2017. They were avid square dancers, and enjoyed many travels together.
Bill and Alice are survived by their three children, William F. White (wife Lisa), Elizabeth Hirsh (husband Jeff), and Peg Wheeler. There are also eight grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
A service will be held in November at Saint Francis of Assisi church in Amherst, VA, which will also be Alice’s final resting spot beside her husband Bill.
