Charles Vasiliou

March 27, 1927June 15, 2020

Charles Vasiliou, 93, of Nashua passed away peacefully at home on Monday June 15, 2020. Born March 27, 1927 in Nashua, NH, he was the son of the late Cosmos and Helen (Kolis) Vasiliou.

Charlie was a lifelong resident of Nashua, and spent his entire career at Nashua Corporation on Franklin Street. He proudly served his country in the United States Navy during World War II.

He loved the ocean and going on long pontoon boat rides on the lakes with his family. He was an avid car enthusiast, and took pride in making sure his cars were spotless. He loved riding bicycles his entire life, rain or shine; he rode back and forth to work every day. In recent years, he enjoyed going down to Dunkins on Main Street to spend time with his friends, and any kind of cream pie or donut was always welcomed to satisfy his sweet tooth.

He is survived by his daughter Christina H. (Vasiliou) Petrain and her husband Gerard E.; daughter in-law Debra (Boyer) Vasiliou; grandsons Jason C. Petrain, Nathan C. Vasiliou, and Derick S. Vasiliou; great-grand daughter Alexandra Petrain; Sister in-law Nefeli Vasiliou; nephew Michael Vasiliou; niece Helen Vasiliou Darsney; nephew-in-law Kenneth Darsney; and great-nephew Matthew Darsney. He is predeceased by his wife Theresa (Gauthier) Vasiliou; son Charles M. (Chuck) Vasiliou; grandson Jeffery M Petrain; and brother Odesia (Chappy) Vasiliou.

Charlie was a wonderful neighbor for us, as new residents to Nashua 27 years ago. He was always friendly and complimentary to my wife and two sons, always interested in how we were improving and keeping up the property. I loved his cars, and you could see how well he treated them. He was devoted to Theresa and heartbroken over the early demise of his firefighter son, Charles. He loved family, and he loved his country. He had the sea legs of a Navy man, and he was always walking or biking well into his latter days. Charlie, we'll always miss your friendship and neighborliness. Rest easy--your day is done. Well done, my friend!

So sorry to hear about Charlie's passing. He was a very good friend of my late father Vic DuVarney. They would both meet every day at Dunkin Donuts on Main St. I worked on the fire department with his son Chuck for many years. My sympathy and prayers go out to Charlie's family.

Mr. Vasiliou was so kind and sweet to me. We would sit in front of his house and have our conversations. Sometimes we would go for a walk with each other. He was a kind friend to me despite our age differences. Mr. Vasiliou thank you for serving in the United States Navy. You are going to be missed, but we can still have our conversations. <3

Rest in Peace.

Charlie's family and many friends-I can't believe he was in his 90's! Such a nice, kind and loving person, always meeting and greeting his friends @ Dunks. Always asking me how work @ the tire company is going... Please accept my condolances. He was 1 in a million to me!
God Bless

I worked with Charlie at the Nashua Corporation in the N.P.S. Dept. in the 60's.
Charlie did everything fast and was a very hard worker. He was the nicest guy and always had a smile on his face.
I remember that on payday at lunch time he would run down to the bank and cash his check and run back and sit there and count his pay over and over again till lunch was done.
He never as I recall said anything bad about anybody . He was just an all around Great Guy! When I think about him I always smile!!!!
I hope he is with Jesus in Heaven.
