Deb was born on August 19, 1948 in Washington, DC the daughter of Dudley and Helena (Huse) Ball. She spent her early years in Connecticut before moving to Oxon Hill, Md. She was a graduate of the University of Connecticut where she met and married her husband of almost 40 years Bill. His Air Force career took them to Dayton, OH, Sacramento, CA and ultimately to Nashua.
Debby and Bill lived in Nashua since 1977 where she retired from the Nashua School System. Debby always enjoyed the outdoors and spent much of her time hiking nature trails with various groups and kayaking and vacationing on Lake Pemaquid, Maine. Jigsaw puzzles, reading, knitting and searching for the perfect lobster roll filled her odd hours. She always made family gatherings special events.
Family members in addition to her husband include her two daughters Tracy Baukus of Somerville, MA and Robin Baukus of Portland, ME, her son Adam Baukus of Portland, ME, her mother Helena Ball of Williamstown, VT, and her brother Tom Ball and his wife Sue of Montpelier, VT as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins with whom she was very close.
A Celebration of Her Life will be held on Friday March 18, 2011 from 5 to 8PM at the Zis-Sweeney Funeral Home 26 Kinsley St. Nashua, NH. A Memorial Service will be held at 7:30PM in the funeral home chapel. A private committal service will be held at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Debby’s name to the American Cancer Society 2 Commerce Dr. Suite 110 Bedford, NH 03110 or the Beaver Brook Association 117 Ridge Rd. Hollis, NH 03049.
