Donald T. Breen, 76, of Nashua, NH passed away on Friday, March 29, 2013 in Hospice Care at Greenbriar Terrace Nursing Home, Nashua. He was born on July 24, 1936 in Buffalo, NY, a son of the late Timothy Edward and Alice (Keenan) Breen. Mr. Breen had been a resident of Nashua for the past 40 years. He had worked as a water treatment specialist in NY, NH and MA and was owner/operator of Atlantic Abatement, an asbestos removal company.
Don was an avid golfer who traveled the U.S. and Ireland to play the game he loved. He was president of Green Meadow Inner Club for over 25 years, earning him the name of “Mr. Green Meadow,” and was responsible for the success of league and tournament play. He was honored at a special ceremony held in 2010 by his friends and fellow golfers. Don was presented with many gifts and a plaque stating “In recognition and appreciation for his many years of dedicated service to the Green Meadow Inner Club.” Don’s tireless efforts and strong leadership has made the inner club what it is today.
He is survived by his wife; Mary Ann (Driscoll) Breen of Nashua, a son; Timothy Edward Breen and his wife Kate of Holden, MA, a daughter; Meghan Breen Trenz and her husband Michael of Austin, TX, a brother; Dr. John Edward Breen and his wife Marian of Austin, TX and also by ten grandchildren, five great-grandchildren and six nieces and nephews and their families. He was predeceased by his son; Brendan Grant Breen, Sr.
Visiting hours were held Monday, April 1, 2013 from 4:00pm to 8:00pm in the Zis-Sweeney Funeral Home, 26 Kinsley St., Nashua. A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at 2:00pm Tuesday in the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, 216 E. Dunstable Rd., Nashua. Cremation followed.
