

Hionia “Kunny” Pipilas, 85, of Nashua, died October 1, 2013 at Langdon Place of Nashua after a brief illness. She was born on November 3, 1927 in Nashua, the daughter of Costas and Catherine (Pislis) Pipilas and was a lifelong resident of the Gate City. She was educated in the local school system and was a graduate of Nashua High School Class of 1944, and also graduated from the Nashua Business School in 1946 with an Associate Degree in Business Management. She was employed at Edgcomb Steel from 1952 to 1986 when she retired as the Director of Administrative Services.
Kunny was a parishioner of St. Philip Greek Orthodox Church and was very active in her church as well as her community. She was a member of the Elpis Ladies Society, the Daughters of Penelope, where she served as District Governor, and also was treasurer for the Hellenic Cultural Society. She was a member of the Nashua Country Club, the NH Women’s Golf Association, and was the Class of 1944 Reunion Chairman.
She was predeceased by her brothers and sisters-in law: Thomas and Eleanor Pipilas; and Arthur and Emily Pipilas; and by her sister and brother-in-law Helen and John Lafazanis.
Members of her family include her four nephews Dr. Charles Pipilas and his wife Starr, and their children Daniel and Emily of Nashua; James Pipilas and his partner Ted Malone of Provincetown, MA; Daniel Pipilas and his wife Jan of Texas; and Timothy Pipilas of North Carolina;her Godson Thomas Dimtsios and his wife Alicia of New Jersey, as well several beloved cousins and friends.
Visitation was held on Friday October 4, 2013 from 10 to 11AM at St. Philip Greek Orthodox Church 500 W. Hollis St. in Nashua. A Funeral Service followed at 11AM. Burial was in Woodlawn Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Kunny’s name to St. Philip’s Greek Orthodox Church, or to the Alzheimer’s Association, 5 Bedford Farms Dr., Suite 201, Bedford, NH 03110.
