James Edward Malone Jr.

December 16, 1934May 24, 2020

James Edward Malone Jr., a longtime resident of Nashua, passed away on May 24, 2020. He was the son of James and Mary Malone. Jim was married to Lois Malone, the love of his life, for 62 years.

Jim’s Irish wit, charming personality, and sense of humor were mirrored in his contagious smile. His positive spirit and sense of fairness made him a wonderful father and husband, and he brought good cheer to all who knew him. Jim’s dedication to his family and love of life made him fun to be with.

Jim graduated from Amesbury High School. Before volunteering for the Army during the Korean Conflict, he attended Merrimack College, where he was on the hockey team. Jim served in Hawaii as a military policeman with the 25th Division. He received a bachelor’s degree from the Whittemore School of Business at the University of New Hampshire. Jim’s working years were spent buying and selling steel and aluminum at Edgecomb Steel in Nashua and All Metals Industries in Belmont.

While he enjoyed playing golf and tennis, Jim really loved skiing. Most family vacations were spent skiing, hiking or camping in New Hampshire and Vermont. Jim and Lois enjoyed travels to Europe, Central and South America, and the Canary Islands. In later years, they spent winters in Florida attending Red Sox games.

Jim is survived by his wife Lois and children: Shaun (daughter Hannah); James Edward III and wife Sharon (sons Patrick and Colin); and Ann (daughter Kirsten, son Drew and husband Jaymes). Jim was predeceased by his sister, Mary Verrette, and he leaves nephews Paul, Christopher, and Mark Verrette.

A private memorial Mass to honor his life will be held at the Parish of the Resurrection. Interment also will be private. If you wish to make a contribution in Jim’s honor, in lieu of flowers, please consider The PLUS Company, 19 Chestnut Street, Nashua, NH 03060.
