
Julia M. DeForte 91, of Nashua, died on October 19, 2011 at St. Joseph Hospital after a brief illness. She was born on August 16, 1920 in Zelzate, Belgium the daughter of Gustare and Maria (Coone) Bruynbroeck.
She was raised and educated in Belgium and emigrated to the United States in 1946. Julia was employed as an inspector for the Acushnet Process Company with over 25 years of service. She was married to Louis DeForte in 1945 and together they enjoyed traveling, biking and cooking. They shared 29 years of marriage until his death on September 11, 1974.
Members of her family include her two sons Manuel DeForte and his wife Patricia of Nashua and Joseph DeForte and his wife Jeannie of Las Vegas, NV, her three grandchildren Karen Leedberg, Robert DeForte and Shelley DeForte her two great-grandchildren Haylee DeForte and Kaycee DeForte . She was pre-deceased by her brothers Kamiel Bruynbroeck and Andre Bruynbroeck.
A memorial service was held in the chapel at Gatewood Manor, 27 Will St. Nashua,NH at 12 noon on Friday Oct. 28 with a light luncheon to follow. Burial will be at St. John Cemetery 446 Jacintho St.New Bedford, MA at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Julia’s name to the Wounded Warrior Project at www.woundedwarriorproject.org
