Katherine Elizabeth Brewer

Katherine Elizabeth Brewer, 78, of Nashua, New Hampshire, passed away on July 24, 2026. Born on November 20, 1947, she was born in Hartford, Connecticut and grew up in Granby, Connecticut, before later moving to New Hampshire. She returned to Newington, Connecticut, and following the passing of her husband, Dennis Brewer, moved back to New Hampshire to be closer to family.

Katherine earned her cosmetology license and worked as a nail technician, a role that reflected her steady skill and care for others. She was an avid reader, and when a book truly captured her attention, she would happily stay up all night turning pages, absorbed in the story.

In earlier years, Katherine carried a spirited sense of adventure. She learned to shoot and loved to fish—though she never cared for putting the worm on the hook. In her 30s, she learned to ride a motorcycle and enjoyed going on rides, embracing the freedom of the open road. She also enjoyed playing slot machines and even won a car.

Above all, Katherine found deep joy in her family. She loved camping with her grandchildren when they were young and took special pride in cheering on her grandson, Shawn, especially during football games where she could be found supporting him from the sidelines. She also treasured hearing her granddaughter, Rachael, sing at school concerts and anthems at football games, and watching her cheerleading in high school. Katherine delighted in spoiling all of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and her affection for them was constant and unmistakable.

Katherine was predeceased by her husband, Dennis Brewer; her ex-husband, Frank Card; her father, Mynest “Bob” Cyr; her mother, Katherine (Morgan) Cyr; her sister, Theresa Cyr; and her sister, Patricia (Cyr) Marek.

She is survived by her daughter, Michelle Barrett and her husband David Barrett; her brother, Robert “Bob” Cyr; her grandson, Shawn Donnelly and his wife, Cassandra Donnelly; her granddaughter, Rachael Hobart and her husband, Kevin Hobart; and her great-grandchildren, Lucas Donnelly, Vincent Donnelly, Grayson Hobart, and Hailey Hobart.
