In his personal life, Krail was married to his beloved wife, Mary L Seatten, who predeceased him in 2020. Together, they built a large and loving family, blessed with 13 children, 29 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great-grandchildren. His family was a source of immense pride and joy for him.

Krail's interests were as varied as his career. He found joy in photography, drawing, and working with electronics and circuit boards. His love for music and making model airplanes demonstrated his creative spirit and attention to detail.
