[A memory of Laura from Frank and Patty] Laura still lives within us. One example: While we were at Abby's wedding, I was telling Laura how we were having a hard time remembering to have Frank take his prescription for his seizures at night. She took my cell phone and put an "alarm" on it so it would go off at 7PM. So now, when the alarm goes off at 7PM, we both say "thank you Laura". So many little things like this.

Laura brought abundant light and laughter to our cancer support group, often when we needed it most. She naturally lifted us up by telling often hilarious stories about herself and her family, yet shared herself and her struggles without reservation. It is who Laura was - very honest and open, loving and caring of others. Although she first attended our meetings to support her brother Stan, she stayed beyond his passing, to the benefit of all of us who knew her. I just attended her funeral virtually and felt deep sadness and loneliness as her casket was wheeled out of sight, the intense mourning that was the last sight of her .. until we meet again. Thank you for your friendship, Laura. Rest in peace (if you find such a moment in your busy time in Heaven).

Laura,
You will always stay in my memory as my friend and co-worker. In the 5 years that I knew you, we worked hard and joked hard as well. You usually got the best of me. I will miss your wit and your intellect.
In warm memory
Your friend Peter

"And a voice from hearven said 'This is my beloved... in whom I am well pleased.'" This passage from Sunday's gospel was surely spoken by God when Laura arrived last week at heaven's door. Thank you, Laura, for showing us how to live compasionately, generously, and kindly, with humor and faith. I am honored to have walked some steps with you. My deepest condolences to your family and friends. - Mike Bradley

I met Laura when we first enrolled in graduate school at St. Mary's University. She was the first person who reached out to me when I had questions regarding transportation and the finer points of high technology as related to the program. We developed a fast friendship, including her coming here to FL for two vacations and my visiting her in New Hampshire when she finished her chemo. Laura was funny, loving, smart, strong, faith-filled, and took great care of her mother. She will be dearly missed but I am grateful she is at peace and in God's loving arms.

I will miss seeing Laura at our cancer support group. I always looked forward to her being there. She was helpful to those who were attending for the first time and always put them at ease and to the regulars she was funny and got us laughing at every meeting. This is a sad time for all.

I am so sorry for the loss of Laura. As a little girl I always loved being around my Uncle Stan’s family. All of the Chmieleckis were so happy and fun. Laura was such a comfort both to my uncle and my aunt during his sickness and death. She was a kind and loving person. I’m praying for all of her family and friends. xo

Laura was my brother-in-law Stan’s sister. I knew her best when Stan was diagnosed with cancer 8 years ago and succumbed 5 years ago. Laura was his advocate and during that time she and I developed a close relationship. I really admired her humor, her intelligence, and her kind heart. She did Reike for me, for Stan, and my sister Laurie when we became tense and emotional. We joked that we were sudden BFFs and supported each other during the years before and after Stan’s passing. I admired her so much and will miss her. She was one of a kind.

My father and I would drive her nuts when we were over doing a project for example redoing her down bathroom my dad would put tool down and expect me know we're it is. She even treated me to lunch on Sundays with my grandmother and her or treat me to a restaurant. Laura was willing may of times have me go with her to places like to fair

Laura has been my friend and inspiration for many years. She’s the only person I’ve known that never complained. I’ve always tried to emulate that special quality in her. It’s a work in progress.
I was often her guest at her campsite in ME. It was a lovely retreat that she generously shared with me Every visit included a stop at the Maine Diner for a delicious meal.
I have so many wonderful memories of Laura.
She felt so privileged to be able to care for her Mother in her declining years. It afforded her the opportunity to get to know her as a person and not just as a mother. They developed a special friendship that Laura cherished. I admired Laura for her dedication to her care.
I will miss her terribly. She has enriched my life beyond words.
She is at rest with God and her Guardian Angel, Patrick. I love you my friend. ❤️
