As one of her grandsons, I would be able to meet her often. This gave me a lot of time to spend with her. During this time, we would hang out and watch movies, play board games, and just generally talk. I really loved her and it killed me when I heard she was sick and in the hospital around Christmas of 2021. I was worried and made her a card. This gave me flashbacks when she would pick me up on school for half days, watch us over the summer when our parents had to work, and swim at her local pool and play at the playground.  She was truly the best Grammy I could ask for. I just wish I could see her again even for a minute. Lois held a big place in all our hearts and may her memory never be forgotten.

I remember first meeting Lois the weekend she married my uncle, Dean. The first thing I noticed was her accent (growing up in Utah, she had an accent to me).  She was lovely, very sweet, kind and loving toward me and my brother, though we had only just met. But this never changed throughout the time I knew her. I still refer to her as my favorite. I don’t have many memories as we didn’t get together as much as I would have liked, but I will always remember her gentleness. My sincerest condolences… love you, Lois 💕 til we meet again!

I am saddened by the loss of your Mom.
It was a privilege to care for your mom and share in the tender and beautiful way that you comforted her. I am truly blessed to have witnessed such meaningful moments. Gosh, she had a sweetness about her.  I could feel that from her. She had an impact on me and I am blessed to have cared for her if only for a brief time. Mostly, it’s obvious that she was very blessed to have you as her family as you were to have her as your Mom.  I know in my heart she felt you there.  I send warm healing thoughts your way as you navigate through the devastating loss of your Mother. May you find comfort as you recall the fond memories and stories that you’ve shared together.

I was sorry to hear the news of your mother.  Please accept my deepest condolences and please take this comfort that my thoughts and prayers are with you and the family.

When I was little, after Daddy, Grey, Erica and Billy left for the day, Mye and I would  spend the morning singing and dancing to her old records. I would either sit in her lap as she sang or I would stand on the footstool and she would swing me around. The Supremes were our favorites.  I remember how she would sway her hands when she danced.  I remember how she would wake us up in the summer time and ask us, "do you want to go to the beach, today" she was so excited and happy.  We usually had movie nights on the weekends and she'd make big bowls of buttery popcorn.  I remember our many failed attempts to watch all three Indy movies in one night.  During my senior year of high school, she would take me out of class, just so we could go shopping.  She taught me how to make the best brownies and pecan pies. She was ALWAYS there for me. During my best and worst times, and even when I was mad at her.  She always felt bad because we grew up without a dad but, she was truly the best mom.  

Lois and I would watch scary movies together, we loved Vincent Price. Every time it was on we watched The Wizard of Oz. Lo-Bum liked the Monkees but loved Tom Jones. “It’s not unusual”.   She loved Hampton Beach. I remember walking on the Boardwalk and seeing them make taffy and fudge, and eating it! Walking along the beach and the rock outcropping. She mothered four good kids and two grandkids.  Her whoopie pies were as good as mom’s.  Mel and I had a good time when Lois and Billy flew to Florida. Billy bringing home the big white tiger on the plane. Lois always loved Christmas, picking out the perfect tree with no “bare spots” and trimming it.  Of course I can’t leave out the claw. I was a recipient of that claw a few times! Lois is my sister and she will be missed!
