
Mrs. Lucienne “Lucy” (Chevrette) Marois, 100, passed away peacefully on Thursday, December 1, 2011 in the Greenbriar Terrace Nursing Home, Nashua, NH surrounded by her loving family. She was born January 29, 1911 in Three Rivers, Quebec, Canada, daughter of the late Joseph and Amelia (Nadeau) Chevrette and immigrated to Nashua at the age of six. Mrs. Marois was employed by Sprague Electric for a number of years. She enjoyed knitting and loved doing alterations.
She is survived by a son; Richard Marois and his wife Beverly of Randolph, VT, two daughters; Simonne Dufoe and her husband David of Nashua and Yvette “Eve” Asbury and her husband James, also of Nashua. She is also survived by nine grandchildren, fifteen great-grandchildren and by her beloved longtime companion, her cat Mia. She was predeceased by her husband; Gerald W. Marois, four siblings from Canada and a brother Maurice Chevrette who passed away in 2010, also at the age of 100.
A celebration of Lucy’s life will be held on what would have been her 101st birthday. In lieu of flowers memorials may be directed in her memory to the Nashua Humane Society, 24 Ferry Rd., Nashua, NH 03064. Lucy’s family would like to express their gratitude to the Greenbriar Terrace Alzheimer’s Unit for all of their special care.
