Mary G. (Brindley) Goode

Mary G. (Brindley) Goode, 96 of Nashua, NH passed away on Wednesday, April 15, 2015 in Greenbriar Terrace Nursing Home, Nashua. She was born June 25, 1918 in Dedham, MA, a daughter of the late George and Elizabeth (MacAlear) Brindley.

Mrs. Goode was a resident of Nashua since 2003, formerly living for 40 years in Horseheads, NY. She worked as a bookkeeper for The Great Atlantic & Pacific Tea Company, starting in Brooklyn, NY, moving to Horseheads and finally retiring when the company closed. She was a very hard worker, from her job, to volunteering her time at voting polls and her church parish. Mrs. Goode loved to dance, especially square dancing, enjoyed going to the movies and playing Bingo at the Nashua Senior Center. She was close with her friends but much closer to her family, whom she taught many valuable life lessons and passed on her love of reading to her children. Mrs. Goode was a strong-willed, determined yet gentle woman. She learned to drive at 48 years old, drive a standard car when she was 69 years old and drove until she was 90.

A devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother she is survived by a daughter; Maureen Keppler of Long Island, NY, a son in law; Brian McQuinn of Nashua, seven grandchildren; Jessica Paquin and her husband Kevin, Brianna Kim Leveque and her husband Brandon, Erica Graham and Andrea George and her husband Scott, all of Nashua, Laura Hoglund and her husband Michael of Hudson, NH, Arthur Keppler and his companion Ali and James Keppler, all of Long Island. She is also survived by 16 great-grandchildren; Cico, Anthony, Gabrielle, Chase, Carter, Lynnelle, Mason, Hendrix, Sophia, Brian Joseph, Dylan, Jordyn, Andrew, Madison, Ryleigh and Matthew, by nieces and nephews and by her grand dog; Max. She was predeceased by her husband; James L. Goode in 1967, her son; David G. Goode in 2013, her daughter; Elizabeth McQuinn in 2014, a brother; Charles Brindley and a sister; Veronica Williams.

Visiting hours will be held Sunday, April 19, 2015 from 4:00pm to 8:00pm in the Zis-Sweeney Funeral Home, 26 Kinsley St., Nashua. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday at 10:00am in Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, 216 E. Dunstable Rd., Nashua.
