Michael P. Murphy

He was born in Paterson, NJ on January 14, 1945; son of George and Genevieve (McGarry) Murphy.

Michael has been a Nashua resident for the past ten years previously residing in Massachusetts. After high school he attended The Catholic University of America in Washington, DC. He graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Mathematics in 1966. He has been employed for 32 years as a Master Programmer for MIT Lincoln Laboratory in MA. Michael was extremely intelligent when it came to mathematics; he would often make private investments in financial markets. He enjoyed traveling.

In addition to his parents, Michael is survived by a brother; Thomas E. Murphy and his wife Celia of Sao Paulo, Brazil, a niece Michelle Koza and her husband Stephen of NYC; a nephew Patrick Murphy of Celia of Sao Paulo, Brazil, as well as several cousins.

Calling hours were held on Sunday, February 28, 2010 from 2pm to 6pm at the ZIS-SWEENEY FUNERAL HOME, 26 KINSLEY STREET, NASHUA, NH 03060. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Michael’s name to the American Cancer Society, Northern N.E. Region, 2 Commerce Drive, Suite 110, Bedford, NH 03110.
