Percy Ernest Lennon

Percy E. Lennon, 87, of Littleton, New Hampshire, passed away on August 8, 2026. He was born on July 15, 1939, in Carroll, New Hampshire, the son of Charles James Lennon and Mary Elizabeth Potter (Bean) Lennon of Stark, New Hampshire.

Percy attended Twin Mountain High School from 1952 to 1956. On August 15, 1956, he entered the United States Navy in Springfield, Massachusetts. He proudly served his country for 20 years before receiving an honorable discharge on July 15, 1976, in Norfolk, Virginia. Percy attained the rank of Chief Cryptologic Technician Interpretive (CTIC). During his distinguished military career, he received the Vietnam Service Medal, Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Good Conduct Medal, and Navy Unit Commendation.

Following his return home from the Navy, Percy continued his education at the College for Lifelong Learning in Littleton, attending from 1985 to 1990 and earning his bachelor’s degree. In recognition of his academic achievements, he was inducted into the National Honor Society in 1989. Percy later worked for many years at Hitchners Manufacturing in Littleton, NH.

Percy was an avid fisherman who especially enjoyed fly-fishing for trout and Atlantic salmon in New Hampshire and Canada. He also loved fishing for largemouth and smallmouth bass in New Hampshire and Florida. His favorite vacation destination was Hong Kong, a place that remained especially meaningful to him from his years of travel.

Percy enjoyed listening to Johnny Cash, watching his favorite movie, Rio Bravo, and treating himself to a Whopper from Burger King. He was a devoted New York Yankees fan and especially admired baseball legend Mickey Mantle.

More than anything, Percy will be remembered for his deep devotion to his family. Although he did not have children of his own, he was a dedicated uncle and brother who cared deeply for those around him. Percy made it his mission to keep family members connected and lovingly cared for each of his brothers. He was the last surviving Lennon brother.

Percy was predeceased by his parents and his brothers, James Lennon, Morris Lennon, Raymond Lennon, and Gene Lennon, all of Carroll, New Hampshire.

He is survived by his nephews, Daniel Pelletier and his wife, Brittany Pelletier, of Twin Mountain, New Hampshire; Russell Lennon, Charles Lennon, and James Lennon, all of Twin Mountain, New Hampshire; and David Lennon of Fredericksburg, Pennsylvania, Raymond Lennon II of Rochdale, Massachusetts. He is also survived by his nieces, Tina Marie Lennon of Jupiter, Florida; Anna Balch of East Thetford, Vermont; Jesse Lennon of Salem, New Hampshire; and Tammy Tattersall and Krista Wright, both of Waitsfield, Vermont. Percy also leaves behind extended family members and friends who will remember his loyalty, generosity, stories, humor, and steadfast love for his family.

A graveside service with military honors will be held Friday, September 11, 2026 at 1:00 pm in the New Hampshire Veterans Cemetery, 110 Daniel Webster Highway, Boscawen, NH. Please arrive by 12:30 pm and you will be directed by the cemetery staff.
