Raymond C. Morse, also known as “Mouse”, 74, of Nashua, NH passed away on Tuesday, May 22, 2012 at St. Joseph Hospital in Nashua. He was born in Nashua on March 24, 1938, the son of the late Donald Morse and Leah (Brisebois) Valcourt.
Mouse was a lifelong Nashua resident. He served his country in the U.S. Air Force. He was employed as a Paver/Roller Operator for PJ Keating Inc. in MA until his retirement. Ray loved to build things with wood; he made everything from furniture to windmills to cribbage boards. He enjoyed drawing, loved spending time outdoors, riding his Harley, plowing, eating out at Poor Pierre’s Diner, where his favorite waitress Mindy always had his coffee ready, was a member of Local 4 Union and was the assistant coach at Fairgrounds Elementary School. Ray worked hard for what he owned and always took pride in his belongings no matter how big or small. His family meant the world to him and his happiest moments were when they were around. Mouse’s daughters will never forget Dad’s quotes to them and others, “If you don’t have the cash, you can’t afford it” and “Be polite always say yes ma'am and no sir.” Ray was a beloved member of the Nashua community and will be missed by his family and friends.
Ray is predeceased by his wife of 40 years, Katherine J. (Perkins) Morse in 2010 and a brother, Ronald Gagne.
He is survived by two daughters, Tara Ann Perkins of Merrimack and Melissa Ann Morse Armenian and her husband Raffi of Nashua; a brother Albert Gagne and his wife Diane of MA; four grandchildren, Robyn Katherine Perkins, Daniel Raymond Raub, Jailyn Rose Gilcreast and Aidan Raymond Armenian; two nephews; a niece; and many close friends including Brian McPherson, Marc Brackette, Scott Smart, Ronnie Dion and Dave Hudson.
Calling Hours will be held on Wednesday, May 30, 2012 from 4PM to 8PM at ZIS-SWEENEY FUNERAL HOME, 26 KINSLEY STREET, NASHUA, NH 03060.
