Rena Moriarty

Rena M. (Olsen) Moriarty, 88, of Nashua, NH passed away on Friday, December 14, 2012 at Fairview Nursing Home in Hudson, NH. She was born in Nashua on March 1, 1924, the daughter of the late Henry and Albertine (Dube) Olson.

Rena was a lifelong Nashua resident. She was educated in the Nashua school system, graduating from Nashua High School. Rena then went on to attend a two year business school while working part time for Met Life in Nashua. After raising her two sons, Rena worked as an Executive Administrator for the Nashua Housing Authority for 25 years before retiring in 1986. Rena was a member of the Business and Professional Women’s Club, YWCA, Nashua Association for the Elderly, the Red Hat Association and participated in organizing many community concerts in Nashua. She enjoyed playing scrabble, and traveling with her husband to Venice, FL. She is a communicant of St. Patrick Church in Nashua.

She is predeceased by her husband Paul R. Moriarty, Sr. in 1997 and two sister-in-laws, Rita Messier and Eileen Rios.

Rena is survived by two sons, Paul R. Moriarty, Jr. and his wife Cindy of Nashua and Michael J. Moriarty and his wife Debra of Hudson; three grandsons, Jason, Adam and Matthew Moriarty, and a step granddaughter, Nicole Crawford.

Calling hours will be held on Tuesday, January 8, 2012 from 4 PM to 6 PM at Zis-Sweeney Funeral Home, 26 Kinsley Street, Nashua, NH 03060. A Funeral Service will be celebrated in the funeral home at 6 PM. Burial will be held at St. Patrick Cemetery, 71 Derry Rd., Hudson, NH in the spring. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Rena’s name to Home Health & Hospice, 7 Executive Park Drive, Merrimack, NH 03054.
