Richard Melvin

He was born in Concord, NH on August 3, 1951 the son of Winslow and Mildred Melvin.

Richard graduated from Concord High then Graduated from the University of New Hampshire. He worked for NH State Department of Transportation as an Accountant until his retirement.

He made many trips to Disney World in Florida over the years.

He was a member of Blazing Star Eureka No 11, in Concord since January 4, 1974, Master of Eureka Lodge in 1979-80, Lodge Treasurer for many years affiliated (a Charter Member) William Pitt Tavern Lodge No 1789 since April 25, 1983. He was also a member of Horace Chase Lodge No 72 in Penacook since January 15, 1998 where he received his 25-year Masonic service award on March 3, 1999.

He received the Daniel Carter Beard Scouter Award May 13, 1999 from NH Masons

DeMolay Member, DeMolay Dad, and Executive Officer of NH DeMolay, He received the Legion of Honor, Cross of Honor, Chevalier Court of Honor, Emeritus Member of International Supreme Council. Anniversary Lodge of Research No 175 since 1994, Treasurer for many years.

NH Grand Lodge – He was Past Grand Steward and Permanent Member of Grand Lodge

Also belonged to Order of Eastern Star Priscilla Chapter No 51 since 1989

Bektash Shrine a Life member since October 19, 1974, 25-year pin award October 19, 1999.Bektash Treasurer until his retirement to become; Emeritus Treasurer, and a member of Bektash Divan (officer line). Bektash Drum corps, Yacht Club, Hillbilly group, Concord Shrine Club, Past Masters club. York Rite - Trinity Chapter # 2 in Concord, then Horace Chase Council # 4 and finally received the Order of the Temple in Mt Hoerb Commandery March 14, 1981 until he demitted December 31, 2008.

Several cousins survive Richard.

Calling hours will be held on Sunday November 14, 2021 at 5:00pm at Masonic Lodge, Iron Works Road in Concord. Arrangements are in the care of Advantage Cremation Services of NH.
