

He was born in Portsmouth, NH on July 1, 1934, son of the late John and Anne (Conners) Hussey.
Bob attended St. Patrick’s grade school graduating in 1953 from Portsmouth High School, where he was the starting point guard for the Portsmouth Clippers basketball team. He received his BA in Economics from UNH in 1957 and upon graduation he immediately went on to serve two years in the U.S. Naval Reserve.
Bob’s first job was with the Shell Oil Company in Albany NY, and it was in Albany where he met and married Catherine. After leaving Shell Oil, he returned to NH and spent the next thirty-six years with the Bank of New Hampshire where he retired as Senior Vice President of the Trust and Investment Services Dept. Bob also served on many board of directors including the Nashua YMCA, Nashua Board of Public Works and the Nashua Community Council. He was dedicated to community service and received a proclamation from the Mayor and Board of Alderman of Nashua as well as the Governor of NH in honor of his 20+ years of service.
He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and friend and he loved spending time dining, playing golf, going to the gym, cross-country skiing or just watching the New England sports teams with family and friends alike. Bob was also a devout Roman Catholic and was very proud of his Irish heritage.
Bob and Cathy celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary by renewing their vows last November at Immaculate Conception Church in Nashua.
He was predeceased by a son, Sean Michael who passed on September 6, 1961 shortly after birth; four brothers, Joseph M., John C., T. Jerome and Francis P. Hussey; as well as his only sister, Anne Marie Strom.
Bob is survived by his wife of over 50 years, Catherine B. (Nolan) Hussey; five children, John G. Hussey and his wife Michelle of Wilton NH, Theresa G. McLaren and her husband Bill of Pittsburgh PA, Timothy G. Hussey and his wife Melissa of Simsbury Ct, Daniel G. Hussey and his wife Angela of San Diego, CA and Annamae G. Logan and her husband Mathew of Westport CT.; six grandchildren, Brendan and Shannon Hussey, Owen McLaren, Nolan Hussey, Mae and Abigail Logan; 2 step-grandchildren, Myles and Cameron McLaren; a God son, Michael Audi; as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Visiting hours were held on Sunday, February 6, 2011 from 1 PM to 5 PM at ZIS-SWEENEY FUNERAL HOME, 26 KINSLEY STREET, NASHUA, NH 03060. A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated on Monday, February 7, 2011 at 10 AM at Immaculate Conception Parish in Nashua. Burial followed at St. Patrick Cemetery in Hudson NH. A reception followed at the Nashua Country Club.
