Roland John “Jack” Blanchette, 85 of Lawrence, MA, passed away on October 31, 2016 at the Community Hospice House in Merrimack, NH. He was born in Lawrence, MA on May 13, 1931, son of the late Roland and Annette (Damphousse) Blanchette. Roland attended St. Patrick’s Grammar School and Central Catholic High School both in Lawrence, and at age 18 he joined the Marines for the follow 16 years, retiring in 1965, and then moved on to serve 10 years in the Army Reserve. After he served his country he went on to University of Lowell and received his Bachelor’s Degree in 1980. Roland was an avid sports fan. Red Sox were his all-time favorite team; he also enjoyed the Patriots, Celtics and the Bruins, in that order. He was very family oriented and loved his grandkids very much; he was also very proud of his family. He was always the life of the party and very sociable. Roland is survived by his daughter-in-law Marie (Rose) Blanchette of Kingston, MA, daughter Denise M. (Blanchette) Boian and her husband Jeffrey R. Boian of Lowell, MA, daughter Christine A. Blanchette of Nashua, NH, son Kevin A. Blanchette and his wife Laurie (Waters) Blanchette of Windham, NH, brothers, David Blanchette of Lawrence, MA, Mark (Charles) Blanchette and his wife Rosalie, of Monrovia, CA, brother Peter Blanchette and his wife Joyce of Salisbury, MA, brother Paul Blanchette and his wife Maureen of Roseville, CA. He is also survived by his step daughter Judith (St. Lawrence) Colburn of Covina, CA, and step sons, Richard St. Lawrence and his wife Bonnie of Warner, NH, and Gary St. Lawrence and his wife Collette of Peoria, AZ. He is also survived by many grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by his wife Emma (Egersheim) Blanchette, son Kenneth John Blanchette, his sister-in-law Dorothy Blanchette and his step son Mark St. Lawrence.

In lieu of flowers please send donations to the Community Hospice House located at 210 Naticook Road, Merrimack, NH 03054 in Roland’s name. Visiting hours will be held on Saturday November 12, 2016 from 9:00AM-11:00AM at the Zis-Sweeney Funeral Home, 26 Kinsley St. Nashua, NH. A funeral service will immediately follow at 11:00AM in the Funeral Home; burial will take place at Eternal Light Mausoleum in Salem, NH.
