Ronald Robert Plamondon

April 26, 1933January 27, 2019

On Sunday, January 27, 2019, Ronald R. Plamondon, loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, died at age 85.

Ron was born on April 26, 1933 in Springvale, Maine to Jean and Irene (Canton) Plamondon. He entered the U.S. Navy at age 16. There he went to school, gaining an education that would propel him to a successful career in the U.S. space program and the high tech manufacturing field before early retirement.

On June 21, 1958, he married Joyce Malcolm. They raised two sons and three daughters.

The buoyant personality and solid character that pulled so many to him were anchored in enormous faith. He showed his children the power and the love of God. Their home was filled with love and work and play. After their children were grown Ron and Joyce travelled the globe seeing new places and actually witnessing spectacular spiritual events. They spent winters in different parts of Florida finally settling in a quiet, friendly spot on the Southwest coast in Sarasota County.

Ron was preceded in death by his parents, his brother Aurel, and his son Gerry. He is survived by his wife Joyce, son Mark and his wife Sandy, daughter Irene and her husband John, daughter Anne and her husband Pete, daughter Gail and her husband David, son Gerry’s widow Ann, 12 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, his brother Harvey, and a loving extended family.

A funeral Mass will be held at 10:00AM on Friday, February 1st at St. Kathryn’s on Dracut Road in Hudson followed by a lunch at the parish hall. A military ceremony will be held at 11:00AM on Monday, February 4th at the New Hampshire State Veterans Cemetery located at 110 Daniel Webster Hwy, Boscawen, NH 03303. We’ll meet in Boscawen. In lieu of flowers, please donate to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.

I remember first meeting you when my mom looked at your House you were renting. Got to know you and grew to love you guys. You were such an amazing man. After mom mom passed away we moved into the house, my brother lives there now. For over 23 years You have been part of my family's life. You attended my wedding, haven't seen you in a few years, but I'll definitely miss you Ron. Say hi to mom for me. <3 Punky (aka Carolyn) and family

I am so very sorry. Mr. Plamondon was my landlord for 3-4 years in Nashua back in the early 1990s. I didn't know him well. But I do remember him as being so kind. He came around to collect the rent each month. I liked that, what some would call, "old fashion" way of doing business. It was more than rent collection. Each month he would chat for quite a while, making sure everything was in good order in the apartment and seeing if he could help with anything. He asked if the neighbors were noisy and if I felt safe. No landlord before or since has cared about those things. He was so very kind.
I also know he was a good man because he raised Irene. I worked with Irene for a few years. She too was (is) a kind, fabulous person. That doesn't come naturally - that is learned from one's parents.
This is not an easy time for you all.
I am so sorry for your loss.

Ronnie was one of the most faithfilled men I have ever met. He was always loving ,kind and compasionate. He had a smile that lit up any room he walked into. I saw him and his beautiful family alot in my younger years and saw the patience and unconditional love he showed his family and those around him. He was a wonderful man and will surely be missed. I'll be praying for his family during this difficult time. I hope after awhile their tears of sadness and loss will turn into tears of joy with all the amazing memories they share. Bless you all and Hugs sent. Sincerely, Cindy Sawyer
