Betty Jean Seitz Reed

Betty Jean (Seitz) Reed, 83, of Nashville, IN passed away on Tuesday, December 19, 2017 at her home. She was born April 21, 1934 in Brown County, IN the daughter of the late Eugene and Hazle Irene (Matlock) Seitz.

Betty retired from Cummins after 37 years as a tech associate. She enjoyed quilting, embroidery, and word search puzzles. She also enjoyed NASCAR; her favorite driver was Dale Earnhardt, Sr. She will be deeply missed by her family and friends.

Betty is survived by her three daughters, Connie (Dave) Collins, Barbara (Larry) McKinley, and Janet (Kevin) Ault; her sister, Marylou Barkes; five grandchildren, James (Alisha) McKinley, Jessica (Emiliano) Nochebuena, Danielle Bello, Meghan (DaRay) Williams, and Wesley (Lauren) Ault; eight great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Harry E. Followell and a brother, Leslie Saylor.

Funeral services to celebrate her life will be held at 1:00 p.m., Friday December 22, 2017 at Bond-Mitchell Funeral Home, officiated by Reverend John M. Sichting. Interment will follow at Christiansburg Cemetery. Visitation will be held prior to the service from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
