Carol Ann Humphreys McGee, 79, of Brown County passed away peacefully with her loving daughter by her side on Tuesday, March 30, 2021. She was born May 29, 1941 in Crawfordsville, IN, the daughter of the late Dr. John Wesley Humphreys and Marcella Humphreys.

Carol made her home in Brown County in 1979. She loved the history of Nashville, and researching family genealogy. She opened a shop in Nashville for years, appropriately named Unique Happenings. It was as unique as her infectious smile and laughter. Her laughter was so notable, she made all those around her smile and laugh along. She had a joy that surrounded her always.

Carol was a dedicated mother first and foremost. She loved her children, grandchildren and family most of all. She enjoyed astrology, palm reading, Brown County History and genealogy. She had been a member of the Red Hat Ladies Society and Order of the Eastern Star. She will be deeply missed by her children, family, friends; especially her cherished grandchildren who called her “Mimi”.

Carol is survived by her two sons, John McGee and his wife Angela; Michael McGee and his wife Kim; her daughter, Lori McGee and her fiance John Kirby; two brothers, John Humphreys and Joseph Hayes; six grandchildren, Triston, Gunner, Johnathon, Aiden, Maxx, and Alex; and many other beloved family members.

When I remember Carol I think of her beautiful smile and contagious laughter. Our daughters became friends when they started kindergarten, so we watched them grow up together. My fondest memory of Carol was when our daughters wanted us to go to the Dance Barn with them and learn how to line dance. Neither of us were too sure about how the evening would go, but we ended up having the time of our lives. And, we came home knowing how to line dance pretty well. Carol will be missed by all who were blessed to know her. Rest in peace, my friend.

Carol was a second mother to me. I dont have a memory of a life without her. She was room mother, girl scout camp chaperone, chauffer, and always the ultimate defender of my crimes and my spiritual advisor. haha She was an amazing source of encouragement, strength and support through my toughest moments and There to laugh with me thru good ones. She was not just mother of my dearest pal of 40 years , she too was my friend. Many hours spent just the 2 of us. Discussing all things mysterious and of the psychic realms. Haha She always encouraged my creative spirit and treated me and my son like one of her own. Carol was a fierce mama bear should anyone mess with her cubs and a fierce advocate of let them be little. She did not sweat petty things and reminded us all to relax a little. She loved ice cream, laughter and family fun. She will be greatly missed and I cherish my life time of memories and cling to my gratitude for having been blessed with her in my life.
