Obituary of Doris Eloise Kent
Doris Eloise (Stevens) Kent entered eternal rest April 10, 2012 at home surrounded by her children. She was born August 6, 1922 in Bloomington, IN. to Homer & Nora Ethel (Polley) Stevens. Mrs. Kent was an alumnus of Unionville High School. She entered her formal education in 1929 & graduated in 1939, that same year she enrolled at Indiana University where she excelled at their school of business. She was a member of the Belmont Church of Christ. She was a devoted mother, grand, & great grandmother who will be dearly missed by her family. She enjoyed gospel & country music, quilting, reading, IU basketball, as well as any sport in which her children or grandchildren where playing, & walking. She is survived by her sons, Robert (Mary Jo) & Thomas (Diana) Kent all of North Vernon, daughters, Bette (Bill) Walden & Nancy Kent of Seymour, & Mary Beth (Randy) Woods of Bloomington, grandchildren, Robert (Taryn), Baron (Andrea), Randall (Kelly), & James (Jenny) Kent, Carrie (Pete) Manowitz, Kelly (David) Warren all of North Vernon, & Samuel Woods of Bloomington, great grandchildren, Jordan, Alyssa, Jonathan, Andrew, Addyson, Carter, Aniston & Brody Kent &, Keegan & Mallory Manowitz, Jada, Karma, Brookley & Kassidy Warren all of North Vernon, one step great grandson, Josh Warren of North Vernon, a sister, Ruth (Stevens) Kent & several nieces & nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Edward, her parents, sister & brother in law, Roxie & Peck McClung, brothers & sister in law, Clifford Kent & Cecil & Virginia (Mercer) Kent, & sister & brother in law, Edna & Elbert Dewar. A funeral service will be held Saturday, April 14 at 11:00 A. M. at Bond-Mitchell Funeral Home, Nashville, the family will receive visitors at the funeral home on Friday, April 13 from 4:00-8:00 P.M. & one hour prior to the service on Saturday. She will be carried to her eternal resting place, Duncan Cemetery, by pall bearers, Randall, James, Robert, Baron, & Jordan Kent & Samuel Woods.
