

Jack D. Lucas, 77, of Nashville, was born on May 24, 1936 and passed away in Columbus Regional Hospital surrounded by his family on January 21, 2014. He was born and raised in Brown County to the late Albert and Arlene(Hillenberg)Lucas.
Jack married Sheila Carmichael on June 29, 1958 and they celebrated 55 years of marriage. He worked at RCA for 35 years and rose to superintendent before retiring to the farm in 1990.
Jack is survived by his loving wife Sheila, three children: “JD”(Claudia)Lucas, Suzette(Jeff)Swain, Aimee(Rick)Browning, five grandchildren: Jared and Becca Lucas, Danielle Sizemore, Chad(Gena)Lucas and Olivia Browning, three great grandchildren: Audrie, Emma, and Grahmn Sizemore.
Jack is also survived by his brother, Edgar(Phyllis)Lucas and his sister, Betty Brand.
Jack enjoyed a lifetime of farming and working in the beef industry. He spent 30 years promoting 4-H beef projects and developing the open class beef shows for the Brown County 4-H program. In addition, Jack was a 50 year member of the Masonic Lodge in Nashville.
Visitation will be held on Friday, January 24, 2014 from 4-8 pm in Parkview Church of the Nazarene. The funeral service will be held on Saturday, January 25, 2014 at 1 p.m. with visitation one hour prior to the service in the church with David Hayes officiating. Burial will be in Christiansburg Cemetery.
