John was my student at Ivy tech. His positive attitude and talent was a wonderful addition to the classes he took. I was happy to know that he was at IU, and that he found a passion for stone carving. My condolences to Katie and the family at this sad time.

I went to elementary school and part of Jr. High with John. While we lost contact after I moved away the summer after 7th grade, he was someone I always remembered fondly. In a time for me that was filled with bullies, I always remember John sticking up for me or always making me laugh. He was an amazing person and I am so sorry for the loss you are all feeling. I hope you take some comfort in knowing how people remember John; as a kind, funny, and sweet person. He touched a lot of lives, I know.

Prayers to you all,
Lauren Reed (Jennett)

I did not know John, but for some reason when I saw his picture I wanted to read his obituary. I just wanted to let you know that your description of him as "a kind and gentle person", is exactly what I saw in his picture! I am truly sorry for your loss and have said a prayer for your family.
