Johnny Asher

Johnny Asher, 90, of Columbus, IN passed away on Friday, September 14, 2012. He was born January 1, 1922 in Hyden, Kentucky the son of the late Boyd and Hattie Asher.
Johnny was a World War II Army Veteran. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, bluegrass music, the Colts, sharing his military stories, and spending time with his family and friends, especially his grandchildren. He will be deeply missed.
Johnny is survived by his daughter, Barbara (Steve) Miller of Nashville, IN; eleven grandchildren; and several great grandchildren.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife Drucilla Asher; his son, William Muncy, Jr.; and his daughter, Geneva Mercer.
Funeral services to celebrate his life will be held at Noon on Tuesday, September 18, 2012 at Bond Mitchell Funeral Home, officiated by Pastor David Hayes. Honor guard services will be presented by the Brown County Honor Guard after services at the funeral home. Graveside services will be held on Tuesday at 2:30 p.m. at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens in Greenwood, IN.
The family will receive friends on Monday, September 17, 2012 from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. and on Tuesday from 11:00 a.m. until Noon.
