Born in Bryant, Indiana, he was the son of Wendell and Irene Ebersole. The Ebersole family moved to Fort Wayne, Indiana in 1956. Mr. Ebersole graduated from Fort Wayne’s South Side High School in 1959. He married his high school sweetheart, Jane Saylor, September 30, 1961 in Fort Wayne. He and his wife raised their family of four children in Fort Wayne.
He served in the United States Air Force from 1959 to 1964 with an overseas assignment in England and temporary duty in Libya. After military service, Mr. Ebersole attended the International Barber School in Indianapolis and then barbered in Fort Wayne for thirty years. The Ebersoles worked together in the commercial rental business until 2003, when they retired to Brown County.
Along with his wife, Jane, he is survived by sons Larry Ebersole II of West Peoria, Illinois and Matthias (Rebecca) Ebersole of Carmel; daughter Dawn (Don) Cromwell of Casey, Illinois; Grandchildren Andrew, Zachary, and Christian Ebersole; Katie (Andy) Walsh, Donald Cromwell, and Allie (Gavin) Lewis; Great-grandchildren Ava Cromwell Upton, her adoptive father Kreig Upton, and twins Aurora and Oakley Walsh.
Mr. Ebersole was preceded in death by his father, mother, sister Nancy Arroyo, daughter Brooke Ebersole, and granddaughter Marie Cromwell.
Larry enjoyed working with stained glass and displaying his art at the Brown County and Indiana State Fairs. He also shared his craft by gifting family and friends with pieces representing their interests or for special occasions.
A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, August 8, 2026 at 2pm at the Bond-Mitchell Funeral Home in Nashville, Indiana. Visitation will begin at 1pm, one hour before the service. Military honors will be observed.
