Larry Dale McKinley

Larry Dale McKinley, 62, of Columbus passed away on Tuesday, September 14, 2021 in his home after a long illness. He was born January 3, 1959 in Bloomington. He was the owner of Larry’s Hair Design and the Youth Pastor at New Life Community Church.
Survivors include his wife, Barbara Followell McKinley of Columbus; a son, James (Alisha) McKinley of Columbus; two daughters, Jessica (Emilio) Nochebuena and Danielle (Antonio) Bello of Columbus; six grandchildren, Kameron, Jackson, Emerson, Carson, Isaiah and Elijah; three sisters, Kim (Dennis) Allender, Jeri Roberts and Robin Zink; two step sisters, Cathy Junken and Melanie Mathis; and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his father, Maurice Mathis; his mother, Eunice Mathis; a brother, Daniel McKinley; and a brother in law, Daniel Roberts.
Larry was a member of New Life Community Church, and was a U. S. Army Veteran. He loved to paint, play practical jokes on his friends, making people laugh, talking on the telephone and being a social butterfly. He was a man of great faith. He lived his life for the Lord.
There will be a gathering of family and friends on Tuesday, September 21, 2021 from 4:00 – 8:00 PM in Bond-Mitchell Funeral Home, 1682 State Road 135 N. Funeral Services are scheduled for Wednesday, September 22, 2021 at 11:00 AM in New Life Community Church, 1450 State Road 135 North, with Pastors Tim Conboy and John Barrett officiating. Burial will follow in Brown County Memorial Park.
