

Louie Bob Wood, 87, of Brown County, died Sunday October 11, 2015 at Brown County Health and Living. She was born January 3, 1928 in Indianapolis, daughter of Louis Phipps and Florine (Durham) Phipps. She was a graduate of Wiley High School in Terre Haute and received a bachelor’s degree in Philosophy at Indiana State University.
She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Terre Haute and the Nashville Christian Church. She was also a charter member of PEO in Nashville and a hospice volunteer. She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald E. Wood of Nashville. She is survived by a daughter, Tracy (Jack) Todd, a son, David Wood, and a son, Michael (Sandy) Wood, three grandsons, Nathan Wood, Cameron Wood and Ming Li Wood, two granddaughters, Lauren (Todd) Spiece and Betsy (Todd) Firth, and five great grandchildren.
She enjoyed world travel, U.S. and world history, politics, china painting and bird watching.
There will be a celebration of her life at the Brown County Inn on Sunday, November 1st from 2:00 pm to 5:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in her name to the Brown County Humane Society.
