Marcia was born on September 20, 1946, in South Bend, Indiana to Murray Moody and Adeline (Humberger) Moody. She graduated from Indiana University with a degree in Geology and went on to have a long and successful career with Exxon in Houston, Texas. It was there she met Donald Moore, and the two were married in March 1986.
An adventurous and curious spirit, Marcia earned her pilot’s license as a young adult and found joy in flying small planes. Later in life, she followed her heart into animal care, becoming a Registered Veterinary Technician after retiring from Exxon. She worked at a feline veterinary practice in Houston before moving with Donald to Nashville, Indiana in 1999.
In Nashville, Marcia and Donald became deeply involved with the Brown County Humane Society, where she devoted countless hours providing veterinary technician support to homeless dogs and cats. She mentored several young people who were interested in pursuing a career in animal care. Her compassion and quiet dedication made a lasting difference in the lives of animals and the people who cared for them.
Marcia and Donald were members of St. Agnes Catholic Church in Nashville, where a funeral Mass will be held for Marcia on July 24, 2025 11:00am. The church is located at 1008 McLary Rd, Nashville, IN 47448.
