We were deeply concerned saddened to learn of Dee’s passing. My husband Jeff and I bought property on Lake LaSalle in 2007 and moved to Brown County permanently in the spring of 2012. One of the first things we realized was that we were going to need a new bank and so after talking with different banks and staff we decided to choose First Merchants which was the beginning of our friendship with Dee. In the Fall of 2012 I was asked to become a LEAP participant so again our paths crossed and then the next year I joined the LEAP board and eventually took over Dee’s treasurer duties. Dee always found a minute to chat about LEAP or share her many memories of living in Brown County. I didn’t know her as long as many but I definitely will miss her and will treasure all our little chats and times together. As you all know quite well, Dee was a special person.
