

Mary Opal (Buchele) Harris, 92, of Nashville passed away June 18 at the Brown County Health & Living Community. She was born March 13, 1920 in Canaan, IN. the daughter of Otto E. & Elmo E. (Ross) Buchele. They preceded her in death.
Mary was a former employee of R.C.A., Bloomington, & Charlestown Powder Plant, Charlestown, IN., Columbus Republic, & Bob Evans all in Columbus. She was a member of Harmony Baptist Church where she played the piano, Order of Eastern Star Chapter 253 Hayden Chapter, AARP, Senior Citizens in Columbus, Van Buren Fire Dept. where she served on the board, baked & cooked for their fundraisers, & was a care giver for Alzheimer’s patients.
Her funeral service will be held Saturday, June 23 at 11:00 A.M. at Harmony Baptist Church, 3999 Mt. Liberty Road, Nashville, with Rev. Greg Brown officiating, burial will follow at 3:00 P.M. at the Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, Madison, IN. The family will receive visitors on Saturday at the church from 10:00 A.M. until the time of service.
Survivors include sons, Keith Ray Harris, Mt. Washington, KY., Dwight Douglas Johnson, Franklin, IN., four grandsons, one granddaughter, several great grand- children, nieces, nephews, cousins, & Shirley Reed, Bloomington her care giver for several years. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Ben Harris, & two sisters, Francie Meek & Helen J. Copeland.
