

Mary Margaret Kaufman, 89, Nashville, passed away Thursday, May 31 at the Brown County Community Care Center in Nashville. Born July 14, 1922 in Wheeling, West Virginia, she was the daughter of Bernard and Margaret (Donovan) Shalvey. She graduated from St. Joseph Academy High School in Wheeling and received additional education from N.C.R. in Cincinnati, Ohio. She had worked at Holland Furnace Company and later for a dermatologist, Dr. Graham, both in Wheeling. She was a wonderful, caring, loving mother and grandmother, an all-around caring person and very angelic in her Catholic faith. She was a member of St. Agnes Catholic Church in Nashville.
Mary Margaret is survived by her daughter, Michelle (Mike) Velez, Nashville; sons, J. B. Kaufman, Martinsville, & Greg (Peggy) Kaufman, Nashville, grandchildren, Melissa Kaufman, Chris (Kristen)Velez, Nicole Hacker, Jackie (Cliff) Cleary, Jake (Leah) Kaufman, A.J. (Jacque) Kaufman, Chris (Sheena)Kaufman, & David Kaufman; eleven great- grandchildren, Taylor, Graci, Rainey, Marley, Levi, Luke, Mary Norma, Evelyn “Evy”, Ryanne, Hope and Joey; two sisters, Eileen (Tom) Wiles, of Floyds Knobs, Indiana and Sister Catherine Shalvey, Order of Little Company of Mary, Evergreen Park, Illinois; one brother, David Knight, of Jefferson, Pennsylvania and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, a daughter, Kitty Lou Kaufman, two brothers, Bernard and Joseph Shalvey and one sister, Rose Marie Knight.
The Mass of Christian Burial will be at 3:30 P.M. Wednesday at St. Agnes Catholic Church with Fr. Eric Johnson and Sr. Eileen Flavin officiating. Burial will follow in Brown County Memorial Park Cemetery. Friends may visit the family on Wednesday from 2:00 P.M. until 3:30 P.M. at the church.
