

Phillip Drew Farlee, age 87, of Bloomington, Indiana passed away peacefully on May 22, 2026 with family in attendance. Phil was born on December 18, 1938 to Fred and Ellen Farlee of Bloomington, Indiana. Phil was a 1957 graduate of Bloomington High School, attended Trevecca Nazarene College, and was a naval reservist serving briefly between the Korean and Viet Nam conflicts aboard the aircraft carrier USS Franklin D. Roosevelt on a Mediterranean deployment.
Carol Olive Farlee, age 89, passed away peacefully on June 4, 2026 with family in attendance. Carol was born on January 26, 1937 to Claude and Thelma McGee of Nashville Indiana. Carol was a 1955 graduate of Nashville High School and attended Trevecca Nazarene College. Carol worked at Sarkes Tarzian, Inc. in Bloomington, IN.
Phil and Carol were married on May 13, 1961. Most of their married life was spent living in various locations in Brown County, Indiana, including in Nashville, on Helmsburg Road, and their longest term and favorite residence on Crooked Creek Road. Their final residence was Gentry Park Senior Living in Bloomington, IN.
Phil worked at and retired from Cummins Engine Company in Columbus, Indiana after 33 years. Phil was a member of the Church of the Nazarene since his youth, most recently the Parkview Church of the Nazarene in Brown County, Indiana. Phil was blessed with a beautiful tenor voice and used it to God’s glory in gospel quartets, church choir and song leader, and community choirs. His love was his savior, Jesus Christ, his wife Carol, time with his family, music and singing.
Carol worked in the Brown County School system for several years, but most of her time was spent being a committed wife and mother as well as being active in her home church, most recently Parkview Church of the Nazarene in Brown County, Indiana. Carol was an accomplished seamstress and made clothing and assorted other textiles. Carol loved to garden and grow flowers and produce for her family and others. She would also regularly bake treats and deliver them to friends in the community.
Phil and Carol both loved time outdoors tending yard and garden, sitting on the back porch swing together, serving in a variety of capacities in their church, and driving through Brown County State Park enjoying the beauty of nature. They lived a life of service and commitment to their Lord, their family and friends, and to each other, departing this life for eternity just 13 days apart.
Visitation and a memorial service for Phil and Carol will be held on Saturday, August 1, 2026 at the Bond-Mitchell Funeral Home, 1682 State Road 135 North, Nashville, IN. Visitation will begin at 3 pm followed by the memorial service at 4:30 pm.
