Phyllis Jean (Robey)Woods passed away at home on December 21, 2012, surrounded by her family. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and child of God, who went to be with our Lord. Phyllis had a 2 week and 4 day battle with cancer.
Born in Monroe County, she was the daughter of Thomas and Ruby(Huffman)Robey. She married Joseph “Buster” Woods of Nashville on October 31, 1953 and he survives. To that marriage she and Buster have a son and daughter-in-law; Randy and Mary Beth(Kent)Woods of Bloomington, a daughter and son-in-law; Darla J. and Jon Schultz of Mooresville.
Phyllis worked at RCA, Sarkes Tarzian and was co-owner of Fabric Addict in Nashville until 1996. She and Buster have lived in Belmont for 59 years. She loved picking green beans, gardening and her flowers. She was a seamstress and made clothes for many children. She is a member of Westside Trinity Pentecostal Church on Howe Street in Bloomington.
Phyllis is also survived by a grandson; Samuel H. Woods of Bloomington, several step grandchildren; Brian Schultz of Indianapolis, Rachel Coffman of Greenwood and Ashley McDonald of Evansville, three step great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; Thomas and Ruby and sisters; Frances and Maxine and a stillborn child; Teddy Joe.
Friends may call on Friday, December 28, 2012 from 4-8 p.m. in Bond-Mitchell Funeral Home, 1682 St. Rd. 135 N., Nashville, IN 47448. The funeral service will be held on Saturday, December 29, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. also in the funeral home. Officiating the service will be Rev. Gerald Flynn. Burial will take place in Duncan Cemetery.
