

He married Amelina (Lina) Michaud on October 30, 1948. She preceded him in death less than a year ago after 72 years of marriage.
After years of living through the effects of WWII, they moved to Indianapolis in 1956. He was the engraver for the Rost Jewelry Store in downtown Indianapolis and later owned a small jewelry store on the Circle in downtown Indianapolis where he did engraving and sold jewelry and watches. In 1987 Remy retired and they moved to Brown County, Indiana to be near son John, his wife Angie, and their 3 sons. Remy volunteered (with Lina) at the Saint Vincent de Paul food pantry here in Brown County for over 20 years. They attended St. Agnes Catholic Church in Nashville.
Remy served in the French army for two years shortly after the end of World War II. He was stationed in Morocco.
Remy was a devoted, loving, and helpful husband, Dad, and Pépé who loved gardening and being with family and friends. He is loved and missed. Remy is survived by his sister, Janine Alligier (in France), his son John (born Jean-François) married to Angie, grandsons Nathaniel (Angela Battaglino), Zach (Sarah), Nick, 4 great-grandchildren, 1 nephew in the USA and 15 nephews and nieces in France.
The Mass of Christian Burial will be at St. Agnes Catholic Church in Nashville, Indiana at 11 a.m. on Tuesday August 2nd with visiting at 10 a.m. at the church. Bond-Mitchell Funeral Home, Nashville, is handling the funeral arrangements.
Flowers may be sent to the church that morning. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to St. Vincent de Paul, Brown County; P. O. Box 577; Nashville, IN 47448, or to a charity of your choice.
