He was born in Columbus, Indiana February 17, 1954 to the late Chelsea and Maxine (Harris) Jones.
Richard served in the U.S. Air Force as an aircraft mechanic from 1976 – 1980. Most recently he was a local musician, singer/songwriter.
He was survived by his wife; Alison (Quick) Jones, his children; Lesley Cody, Sara Sweat, Chelsea Wolff, Brianna, Christian and Lauren Jones, Step-children; Daniel David and Robert Jacob DeWitt and Jonathan S. Klepper, grandchildren; Bianca, Mia, Ethan, Ptolemy, Alia, Austin, Elijah and Samuel, Step-father; Richard George, Mother-in-law; Joan Rosen. He will be remembered by his brothers; Jerry and Frank Jones as well as his sister; Janet Jones Henson and Sister-in-law; Hyla David as well as friend Bill Klepper. He was preceded in death by his parents, and a brother; Kenneth Jones.
