
Richard “Dick” “Papasan” Stamm, age 81, of Nashville, died Saturday afternoon at his residence. Born September 22, 1931 in Indianapolis, he was the son of Kenneth Dale and Olline (McClellan) Stamm. He retired as the Fire Chief of the Trotwood, Ohio Fire Department and was a life-long firefighter. He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force and member of the Brown County Lions Club and the First United Methodist Church in Nashville.
He is survived by his loving wife, B. Jean “Jeannie” Stamm, of Nashville; one son, Eddie Stamm (Liza), Dayton, Ohio, five daughters, Becky (Ron) Ploski, of Dayton, Ohio, Melia (Gary) Mendenhall, of Union, Ohio, Rovilla Borenstein, of Union, Ohio, Stacy (Frank) Clay, of Carlisle, Ohio and Susan (John) Coughnour, of Dayton, Ohio; eleven grandchildren, Ashley, Kayla, Brandy, Sophia, Tara, T.J., Michael, Edward, Andrew, Ryan, and Caroline; four great-grandchildren, Derek, Birt, Tarick, and Graycen; one sister, Betsy; two brothers, Dave and Bob; and his two beloved cats, Smokey and Cosmos.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his first wife, Phyllis (Haas) Stamm and one infant daughter, Barbara Stamm.
A memorial service will be held at 6:00 P.M., Monday, December 3 at the United Methodist Church in Nashville with the Brown County Lions Club and Rev. Fred Haywood officiating. Friends may visit the family at the church on Monday from 3:00 to 6:00 P.M.
The family suggests memorial contributions be given to the United Methodist Church or to the American Cancer Society.
