Sandra Sue Roland Dudley, 78, was born on August 24, 1938 in Knightstown, IN. She passed away on Saturday, November 12, 2016 at Hope Hospice in Bonita Springs, Florida. She was the daughter of Roy and Emma (McKee) Roland. She grew up in Knightstown and graduated there in 1956. She was known as Sue by family and friends.
Sue married Junior Dudley on June 23, 1956 in Warrington, Indiana. From this marriage they had six children; four daughters; Brenda (Jay) Carender of Wesley Chapel, Florida; Vicki (John) Schwering of Greensburg, IN; Lisa Vickers and friend Mike Baker, of Indianapolis; Karen (Joe) Schwering of Osgood, IN; two sons; Brian (Cindy) Dudley, of Indianapolis; and Brett (Julianne) Dudley, of Nashville, IN.
Junior and Sue have lived in Wilkinson, Indiana and Nashville, Indiana and have been snow birds in Florida for the last 15 years, with living in Bonita Springs, FL for the past two years.
She is survived by nine grandchildren; Holli, Dacia, Beth, Jason, Josh, Travis, Evan, Dakota and Chelsea. She also adored her eight great-grandchildren; Alex, Mackenzie, Madison, Olivia, Mallory, Mariah, Landon and Oliver.
She is also survived by her siblings; Judy (George) Atkins and Mick (Cheryl) Roland of Knightstown and Laddy Roland, of Poland, Indiana.
She was preceded in death by her parents; grandson, Brandon Dudley, who passed in 2013 and son-in-law, Jack Vickers, in 2015. She was also preceded in death by her four brothers; Jack, Willy, Whitey and Harry Roland and one sister; Barbara Walls, all of Knightstown.
Sue was a loving and caring mother, wife and grandmother who will be greatly missed. Her kind words, her outlook on life and how she supported her family was the greatest testimony anyone could ask of a mother and wife. She liked playing solitaire, bingo, cards and enjoyed reading. Sue loved going to the casino with friends.
Funeral services will be on Friday, November 18, 2016 at Bond-Mitchell Funeral Home; Nashville, Indiana. Visitation starts at 1:00 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. with the funeral service beginning at 2:30 p.m. Burial will be at Greenlawn Cemetery in Nashville.
