Stephen Duane Logan, our very heart and soul, devoted husband and father, left this earth Sunday, December 6, 2015. “Steve” was an outdoorsman, always looking for the beauty in nature; a rippling creek, uncut forests, spotting pileated woodpeckers and birds of all sorts. He grew up in the mountains of Colorado and the spirit of the mountains lived within his soul. Steve loved learning and he had an incredible ability to absorb and retain any subject that intrigued him. He was fascinated by the “Old West”, and regularly listened to “Gun Smoke” on the radio with childlike glee. Steve saw such beauty in American history, and he loved to read and share all of his knowledge. His wit and intellect together made him the most interesting and hilarious person to spend time with. His life was motivated by his love of his wife and family. There was no limit to his generosity, and he gave of himself to the very end. Steve’s death was sudden and life will never be the same without him. His life was a gift to all who knew and loved him, and we are all better for knowing him.
Survivors include his wife, Betty (Coburn) Logan, Nashville, daughters, Emily Susan (Logan) Dover and Stephenny Logan, grandchildren, Avery, Lincoln, and Penelope Dover and Lainey Logan, father and step-mother, H. Duane and Cleta Logan, brothers, David Logan, Shelbyville and Russell Logan, Austin, TX.. He was preceded in death by his son, Lucas Duane Logan and his mother, Dorothy Elaine (Matthews) Logan.
